SoftCo supports new Lymphoma Tissue Bank at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital, London.

SoftCo is pleased to announce that it is supporting an innovative new Lymphoma Tissue Bank at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital in London.

Lymphoma is cancer that develops in the lymph nodes and lymphatic system which makes up 3–4% of all cancers, making it the seventh most common form of cancer. Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital are world-renowned for their expertise in the area and it was at Guy’s hospital in 1832 that the pathologist, Thomas Hodgkin, first recognized the disease.

The Lymphoma Tissue Bank will retain all prospective samples of patients diagnosed with lymphoma which will greatly aid further research directives particularly in the area of genomic and translational research. In particular, the Lymphoma Bank will assist in understanding the biological differences as to why some patients do not respond well to treatment. The samples will assist further analysis of the biological pathways relevant to these overall differential outcomes observed in patients with lymphoma.

“We would like to thank SoftCo for its very generous donation. The establishment of the new Lymphoma Tissue Bank is a great achievement for the future improvement in the treatment of these diseases.”
